The Basics

The dam is a popular day-trip destination from Las Vegas and transportation options range from comedy buses, Hummers, and mountain bikes. On-site, tour the power plant, learn how the dam generates and distributes electricity, and see stunning views of the surrounding riverways, canyons, and valleys. Some tours even combine a Hoover Dam visit with shooting range stops, excursions to the Grand Canyon’s West Rim, or a cruise on Lake Mead. Want a bird’s-eye view? Opt for a flightseeing helicopter tour instead.

Ultimate Hoover Dam Tour from Las Vegas With Lunch
This tour was amazing!!! I will cherish for a life time. Our tour guide, Joe, was comically funny, genuine about our safety, and knowledgeable about the dam and surrounding areas. He also worked very well with our driver, Ms Angie, who was very courteous to slow down, when traffic allowed to capture breathtaking pictures. Being able to see the Hoover Dam and Boulder City fornthe 1st time was phenomenal!! Absolutely love it.

Great people - Covid limits

Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam Small Group Day Tour
We had Tara as our guide. She was very informative, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Due to a Covid upsurge there was no tour of the Hoover dam and the skywalk visit of Grand Canyon could easily be dropped as it was not very informative. Despite this My wife and I had an enjoyable time and wouldn’t hesitate to use this company again.

The bus was clean and comfortable. Tour Guide Diaz Mackie was excellent our driver Robert was excellent also. The Grand Canyon was breath taking as well as the Hoover Dam. I did not do the Skywalk. But the people who did said it was awesome and recommended it. The natural beautify of the Grand Canyon I will never forget. Breakfast was delicious and so was our lunch. Our adventure was beautiful and well worth it. Customer Service was great too.

Small-Group 3 Hour Hoover Dam Mini Tour With Strip Pickup
We booked a last minute tour the same day to go see the Hoover Dam. It was a great tour considering the dam was still closed due to COVID. Our driver and tour guide Bob was fantastic! Very informative, courteous and just an all-around good guy. Even my teenagers were impressed!

Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Route 66 Tour From Las Vegas
Claudiu, our guide, was terrific. The Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon are must sees. Pictures do not due them justice. You must see them with your own two eyes. Route 66 was also cool to see.

Grand Canyon West Rim Bus Tour & Hoover Dam Photo Stop with optional Skywalk
The Hoover Dam was awesome! Wish we could have gotten a bit closer. The Grand Canyon is just an awesome wonder and you can get all the photos your heart desires. In the age of Covid-19 the advertised BBQ lunch was non-existent so be looking for your choice of a wrap or salad with some chips and a drink. Tour guide Ralph and driver Leon were awesome and got us there and back safely.

When to Get There

Because of the stifling desert heat in summer, spring and fall are the best times to visit the Hoover Dam. Expect long lines and heavy traffic on summer weekends; opt for an early morning visit to avoid crowds.

Inside Hoover Dam

A Hoover Dam tour features much more than just a 726-foot (221-meter) wall. Explore tunnels that were bored directly into the mountainside, hear the harrowing tales of workers who carved them out by hand, and tour the power plant. The Hoover Dam Visitor Center offers even more info about America’s most famous dam.
